Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 October 2026

1. The service

Maprider is a free navigation and route planning service for motorcyclists, with a web app and an Android app. It is published by Attila Papai, a private person in Hungary (“we”). Contact: [email protected].

The contract is in English or Hungarian. We do not file it separately. You can save or print these Terms at any time.

2. Who can use it

You must be 16 or older. By signing up you confirm your age and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, unless it is not your fault (for example, if our systems are attacked).

3. Ride safely

  • Routes and maps can be wrong or out of date. Roads can be closed or unsafe.
  • Obey traffic laws and road signs at all times. They always take priority over the app.
  • Do not touch the app while you ride. Stop in a safe place before you change a route.
  • You decide whether a route is safe for you and for your motorcycle.

4. Your content

You keep the rights to the routes, GPX files and other content you upload. You give us a free, non-exclusive license to store, copy (including backups), process and show this content, only to run the service for you and the members of your trips. The license ends when you delete the content, except for backup copies until they are deleted. You must have the right to upload the files.

5. Fair use

Do not abuse the service. Do not attack it, overload it, try to get into other accounts, use it to break the law, or copy map data in bulk. We may limit the use of the service to keep it working for everyone.

6. “As is” service and liability

The service is free and is provided “as is”, without a promise that it is always available or free of errors. We may change or stop it. If we stop it, we tell you at least 30 days before, so you can download your routes and GPX files.

To the extent the law allows, we exclude our liability for damage that comes from using the free service, for example from wrong routes or map errors. This does not apply to damage that we cause intentionally or by gross negligence, to damage to life, body or health, or to damage caused by a crime. It does not limit your mandatory rights as a consumer.

7. End of use

You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app or on the “Delete account” page. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms. We tell you the reason by email, except where the law or security does not allow it.

8. Law

Hungarian law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection that the mandatory law of your own country gives you, and you can also go to the courts of your home country.

9. Changes

We tell you about an important change to these Terms by email or in the app at least 15 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before that date. If you keep using the service after that date, the new Terms apply. The date at the top shows the last change.
